Terms of use

This is a courtesy translation. These terms are governed by French law, and the French version prevails in the event of any difference between the two.

1. Who publishes the service

Klarsono is published by Loïc Demanou, a private individual, a non-professional publisher (éditeur non professionnel) established in France. Contact: [email protected]. The publisher’s address is not published here: it is held by the hosts, whose details appear on the Legal notice page.

No paid plan is open at this date. They require registration, which will be stated before the first payment: [legal form and registration to be settled].

2. The service is in beta

Klarsono works, but it is young. Features may change, be suspended or disappear, and interruptions are possible. We will warn you of any change that takes something away from you.

3. Your account

You create an account with an email address or with Google. There is no password: signing in goes through a single-use link or through your identity provider. You are responsible for access to your mailbox. An account is personal; do not share it.

You must be at least 15, or have your parents’ consent, to create an account.

4. Plans, minutes and payment

• The free plan gives 6 minutes of HD voice, once only, when you sign up, then your browser’s voice without limit.
• The paid plans give a monthly allowance of HD voice minutes, reset on the 1st of each month. Unused minutes do not carry over.
• A top-up adds minutes valid for 90 days, and is reserved for subscribers.

The terms of payment, invoicing and refunds will be set out when the paid plans open: [payment provider to be settled]. During the beta, no payment is collected.

5. What we ask of you

• Only use Klarsono on videos you have legitimate access to. The dubbing is for your personal use; it does not entitle you to redistribute anyone else’s content.
• Do not work around the allowances, do not share your account, do not resell the service.
• Do not attempt to harm the service, its infrastructure or its other users.

In the event of a serious breach, we may suspend an account. We will write to you to say why.

6. What we do not guarantee

Machine translation and a synthetic voice can get things wrong. Klarsono is an aid to understanding, not a certified translation: do not use it as your only source in a medical, legal or otherwise critical context.

The service depends on third-party providers. If one of them goes down, Klarsono falls back on an alternative where one exists, and tells you when none does. We guarantee neither continuous availability nor compatibility with every site.

7. Liability

We are liable for direct damage resulting from a failure on our part, up to the amounts you have paid us over the previous twelve months. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law forbids excluding.

8. Ownership

Klarsono, its name, its logo and its code belong to us. The content you watch belongs to its authors or their platforms: Klarsono gives you no rights over it. The transcripts and summaries produced for you are yours.

9. Termination

You may leave whenever you wish and delete your account from your account area, in one click. Deletion is permanent. We may close an account that has been inactive for a very long time, after warning you.

10. Changes

We may change these terms. Significant changes will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date counts as acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, we will first seek an amicable solution: write to us at [email protected]. Failing that, the French courts will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer residing elsewhere in the European Union, this clause takes nothing away from you: you keep the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence.
